Elk Meadows Geography Bee

Friday, January 9th, at 9:00am

Homework:

Check your grades on Skyward and keep up with missing assignments.
Planner signed EVERY day.
Read 20 minutes every day (or 100 minutes per week).

Language Arts:  (Always bring a red pen to class.)
  • B C and D Tracks: Memorize poem "Stopping by Woods On A Snowy Evening" by January 21. Remember to practice it LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR.
  • Preposition Test" January 12. Spellings count.
  • On-Line MyAccess Essay: "Cell Phones In School." Due: January 25, (Sunday night) at 11:00 PM. Five Paragraphs. 1000-1200 words. Watch your scores. Remember a "4.2" average score = 70% = C.

Science:
All Tracks (B C and D): Students need a shoe box to make an instrument when we study Sound in February!
All Tracks (B C and D): No assignment.
 
Reading/Spelling
A track:  Extra credit for doing a one paragraph book report on the book you received as a gift.  Due: 1/26.
   Spelling Dictation Tomorrow - Study words.
B Track: Tuck Everlasting
C Track:  Island of the Blue Dolphins
D Track:  Hatchet
Packets for all novels due: Thursday, January 22.

Math:
Log in to ThinkCentral.com for math activities.
Every Day: Do Reflex Math until you reach the green light.
B Track: 5-5 Due: 1/8
C Track: 5-2 Due: 1/8
D Track: 5-7 Homework/Remembering. Due: 1/8

Social Studies:  
B Track: Atlas done up to and including Unit 27 by Friday. 1/9/15
C Track: No assignment.
D Track:  Atlas 25-26 due: Tomorrow, January 8.
 **World Current Event due: Friday, January 9th **

Technology/Keyboarding: All 6th grade students should be keyboarding at 28 wpm net or higher. Use Typing Web at home to improve your speed and accuracy. Typing speeds are a part of your Technology grade!!!
