Wonderful Wednesday!

      D Track will be exchanging Valentines on 
Friday,  January 23rd.


Homework:
Check your grades on Skyward and keep up with missing assignments.
Planner signed EVERY day.
Read 20 minutes every day (or 100 minutes per week).

Language Arts:  (Always bring a red pen to class.)
  • B C and D Tracks: Memorize poem "Stopping by Woods On A Snowy Evening" by TOMORROW, January 22. Remember to practice it LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR.
  • On-Line Utah Compose: Five Paragraph Essays: "Cell Phones In School" and "What Do We Do About Bullies?" Due: January 25, (Sunday night) at 11:00 PM. Watch your scores.
  • No Red Ink assignments (3 of them) are due: January 25, at 11:00 PM.
Science:
All Tracks: Students need a shoe box to make an instrument when we study "Sound" in February!
 
Reading/Spelling
A track:  Extra credit for doing a one paragraph book report on the book you received as a gift.  Due: 1/26.
B Track: Tuck Everlasting (All questions through Ch.22)
C Track:  Island of the Blue Dolphins (All questions through Ch. 26)
D Track:  Hatchet (All questions through Ch. 18)
Packets for all novels due: TOMORROW Thursday, January 22.

Edmodo Assignment: Informative Writing #1 Due: January 23rd.

You will write an Informative Essay on the novel that your class is reading.  Your first paragraph will describe what you LIKE about the novel (5 sentences or more) the second paragraph will describe what you DISLIKE about the novel (5 sentences or more) and the last paragraph will be your recommendation.  Do you think your friend should read this same novel or not.  (5 sentences)

Remember to start each sentence in your three paragraphs with a different word, similar to what you have worked on with Mrs. Packard.  Please use details and make your reasons interesting!!

If you are having problems with Edmodo, please write your essay in a Word Document and cut and paste it into Edmodo.

No late essays will be accepted after the DUE DATE - January 23, 2015.

Every Day: Do Reflex Math until you reach the green light.

B Track: 5-12 Due: 1/22.

D Track: 5-16/5-17 Homework ONLY due: Jan 22. Unit 5 Test Friday.

Social Studies:  
B Track:  Atlas 30+31 due Friday.
D Track:  No Assignment


Technology/Keyboarding: All 6th grade students should be keyboarding at 28 wpm net or higher. Use Typing Web at home to improve your speed and accuracy. Typing speeds are a part of your Technology grade!!!
