6th Grade Country Report – B, C, D
Tracks
We
will complete our 6th-grade year by having our B,C, and D Track student’s research and write a
Country Report. This goes along nicely
with our study of world history this year.
Attached
are the guidelines for students to follow in writing the report. Most of the report will be researched and
written in class however the poster, oral presentation with power point and
final written report will be done outside of school.
Starting
the week of June 15th, students will present their poster, power
point, written report and any other items for display during class.
Country Report Guidelines
The Country Report will be done
using a report notes packet before writing the final report. Students are to organize their reports using
this packet.
The Country Report Outlines are due Wednesday, May 20. After the teacher checks the
outlines, they will be returned, and the students may begin work on their rough
drafts.
For the Rough Draft the student should take the Country Report
Outlines and write their report in their own words. These can be handwritten in pencil or
typed. Rough Drafts are due June 8th. The Final
Draft, power point and poster will be due June 15th. Students should use their imagination and creativity in
making an interesting report!
Oral
presentations will be June 15 – 18 and June 22-25.
Guidelines/Power Point:
- Include a minimum of 10 slides
- Tell a brief history of your country
- Tell who the leaders are for your country
- Show your Country Flag (from your report) and explain the meaning and importance of the flag.
- Name and briefly describe three famous people from your country.
- Tell the five best things about your country.
- Remember your presentation should be 5 minutes long.
Poster Requirements:
(must include the following but anything else is great too!)
- Poster cut out in the shape of your country
- Important facts about your country
- Your favorite thing you learned about your country
- Major Cities (including Capital)
- Famous Places
- Make your poster exciting. Pretend you are a travel agent and you are trying to get people to visit your country!
